The Project
TechGear India is one of Bangalore’s fastest-growing consumer electronics retailers. They engaged dhub to replace their outdated Magento store with a modern, fast, conversion-optimized eCommerce platform designed for the Indian market.
What we faced
The old Magento site was painfully slow (8+ second load times), had a 1.2% conversion rate, and a cart abandonment rate above 80%. Mobile shoppers — which made up 72% of traffic — struggled with broken filters, confusing checkout, and unreliable payment flows. The client needed a complete rebuild without losing SEO rankings.
How we solved it
We rebuilt the storefront on Shopify with a custom Next.js frontend. Every decision was optimized for Indian mobile users on slower networks: aggressive image optimization, edge caching, one-page checkout with Razorpay integration, Hindi/English toggle, and cash-on-delivery support. We migrated the full catalog (8,000+ SKUs) while preserving every legacy URL via 301 redirects.
